Croatia has a long and interesting coastline from Slovenia in the north to Montenegro in the south so a long coastline with a wonderful Mediterranean climate in the summer.
It’s beautiful islands deserve plenty of time for a nice relaxing holiday. The north of the country you may visit the Istria peninsula which has beautiful towns like Porec, Rovinj,Pula, Opatija and the port city of Rijeka. Brijuni island is worth a visit from Pula this was Marshal Titos private island with a Zoo.
The island of Krk is joined by a bridge and the airport servicing Rijeka is located on Krk and all these location especially in the north of Croatia are very Italian and were governed by Italy up to the end of the second world war. The island of Cres lies between Krk and the port of Pula with the town of Mali Losinj at the tip of it. It is possible to take a ferry from Pula to Zadar or from Rijeka to Dubrovnik and it is a lovely way to travel and see the coastline with it mountains in the background.
Pag is another island with it’s beautiful Pag cheese.
Zadar is a great city to visit and has great access with it’s airport serviced in the summer months by many of the budget airline’s.
A motorway now exists between Zagreb to Dubrovnik which make travel much easier as the old coastal road was too busy in the peak summer months. These new roads have a toll but they are well worth the cost if you are in a hurry to get to some locations.
You should take a boat or rent a rib and make a visit to the Kornati island a good place is Murter with it nice restaurants and motorhome and Wohnmobile campgrounds.
Primosten and Trogir are very pretty town and well worth a visit.
Split is basically in the centre of the country with a beautiful city promenade and all the ferries run from here to Hvar and out to Vis.
South of Split is the Makarska coastline and on to Korcula where you may travel via Ston and a short ferry trip to Orebic.
All roads then lead to Dubrovnik and Cavtat and Montenegro and Kotor and on to Albania.

We are just back from our Croatian campervan holiday thank you for all your knowledge on Croatia. We took the ferry on your advise from Split harbour to Hvar obviously the car ferry. We had no problems on Hvar and we will go back as it was one of our best holidays. Hvar is more expensive than the rest of Croatia but worth it.Thank you again for all your help and sound advice.
We flew to Zadar and had a motorhome delivered to the airport. I advise taking the coast road to Split if you have the time and it is outside the main tourist season.Great holiday it was our best as a family and took the ferry to Hvar which is a gem.
Thank you Mary we were delighted that our staff looked after you so well and the pick up at Zadar airport was on time.
